Walk-in showers offer numerous advantages that make daily showering both safer and more comfortable:
Low-Level Entry – Choose from shower tray heights of 0mm, 25mm, or 40mm, providing a smooth, low-entry threshold for easy access.
Slip-Resistant Surfaces – Our slip-resistant shower trays allow you to shower with confidence, minimising the risk of slips and falls.
Thermostatic Shower Controls – Easily adjust water temperature with thermostatic controls, ensuring a consistently comfortable showering experience.
Safety Features – Optional grab rails, shower seats and anti-slip flooring add an extra layer of security and ease of movement.
Customisable Shower Screens–Select from a variety of tempered glass screens, available in both fixed and door styles to suit your bathroom layout and your mobility needs.
Easy To Clean – Watertight wall panelling eliminates the need for grout, making your shower easy to maintain and keeping mould and mildew at bay.
Our walk-in showers are ideal for anyone seeking to blend modern aesthetics with practical accessibility features. Whether you’re upgrading an existing bathroom or designing a new one, our customisable options ensure that you can shower safely and comfortably.
A great example of a space saving design would be a corner shower. One of the best options for homeowners with smaller bathrooms. Smaller than other types of walk-in showers, yet still offering a spacious feel. The surrounding walls can be protected by three tiled walls and a singular glass door.
Having a shower can be demanding for aching bodies. To make your experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible, why not add a folding seat to your shower? You won’t have to worry about standing for longer periods of time and will be much safer while using the shower.
Low level access showers have a very small step. The step is usually 60mm or less, and the floor is made of slip-resistant materials for your safety. They’re easy to get in and out of, even with limited mobility. However, if you are a wheelchair user you’ll want to look at a level access shower.
For wheelchair users and those who need total step-free access, level access showers are the way to go. These are a great integration into a wet room, where the ground is entirely level. This also makes cleaning much easier and offers a stylish, modern aesthetic.
Our walk-in showers combine safety and style. With sleek, modern finishes and a range of trims and colours, you can create a practical showering space that doesn’t compromise on aesthetics. From non-slip flooring to easy-to-use controls, every feature is designed to make showering a stress-free experience.
At AHM Installations, we understand that no two disabled bathrooms are the same. That’s why our walk-in showers are bespoke solutions, designed to fit seamlessly into any space. Whether you’re replacing an old bath or upgrading your shower area, our team works closely with you to ensure your new shower meets your needs both now and in the future.
We know how important your bathroom is, which is why we aim to complete most walk-in shower installations in just one day. Our Which? Trusted Trader endorsed experienced team will fit your new shower quickly and efficiently, minimising disruption and leaving your bathroom spotless.
For many homeowners, a walk-in shower is not just about accessibility. It is about creating a luxurious yet practical space within the bathroom. Shower stalls offer the perfect solution, providing a clear enclosure that keeps water contained while maintaining the open, low-threshold design that walk-in showers are known for.
Modern shower stalls are designed with both safety and style in mind. Panels of toughened glass create a sturdy barrier while still allowing light to flow through. This gives the bathroom a spacious and contemporary feel. Many stalls can be configured to suit your exact space, from compact corner units to larger enclosures that provide a luxurious showering area.
By choosing a walk-in shower with a dedicated stall, you can enjoy the benefits of a safer, more practical bathroom without compromising on comfort or style. With a wide range of sizes, finishes and layouts available, it’s easy to find a solution that blends seamlessly into your home while meeting your mobility needs.
For many people, a walk-in shower provides independence and peace of mind, but using a shower chair can make the experience even safer and more comfortable. These chairs allow you to sit securely while bathing, reducing the strain on joints and minimising the risk of slipping. They are particularly helpful for those with limited mobility, chronic pain or balance difficulties.
Shower chairs resemble sturdy stools but include a supportive backrest, with some models also featuring armrests. These additions provide greater stability and comfort, helping with posture and making it easier to transfer in and out of the chair. Because they are freestanding, standard chairs can be moved around the bathroom as required.
For those with very limited mobility, and who reply on third party care to help them bathe, a shower chair with wheels can make daily bathing far easier and safer. These rolling chairs allow the user to be moved directly into the shower area without the need to stand, reducing the risk of slips and falls. They are especially beneficial for wheelchair users or anyone who struggles with transfers.
Many models include adjustable seating, supportive armrests and secure brakes, helping to combine safety with comfort. Because they can be rolled into place, these chairs allow for a smoother, more dignified transition between bathroom spaces.
The right type of shower chair will depend on your space, mobility needs and personal preferences. Both standard and rolling models can significantly improve safety and confidence. Particularly when combined with the accessible design of a walk-in shower. At AHM, we can advise on suitable options to complement your bathroom and help you bathe in greater comfort.
